AceComms is delighted to announce its second consecutive year of sponsorship for Sherbrooke Suns basketball player, Sarah Weaver. At 21 years of age, and on the brink of completing her degree in Criminal Justice / Criminology, Sarah has not only displayed remarkable basketball prowess, but has also exemplified great leadership both on and off the court.

Having started her basketball journey at the age of 6, Sarah’s dedication and passion for the sport have only intensified over the years. Beginning by playing in mixed boys and girls teams, she quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming a cornerstone player for the Wantirna Wasps basketball club in Basketball Victoria’s domestic underage girls’ competition.

Sarah’s ascent continued as she embraced association representative basketball, making her mark at the u/14 age level in the Victorian Junior Basketball League. At 18, while still competing at the u/18 level with the Sherbrooke Suns, she earned a coveted role as a development player for the Sherbrooke Suns Youth League u/23 women’s team in Basketball Victoria’s Big V Youth League competition. Since 2020, Sarah has been a permanent and influential member of the team, even captaining the squad in 2022 and 2023.

Sarah and her team mates have their eyes set on the championship in 2024, aiming to make a statement by reaching the finals and securing the championship.

In addition to her impressive achievements with the Sherbrooke Suns, Sarah has excelled in school basketball, contributing significantly to her team’s success in winning the Independent Schools Association Grand Final each year from years 8 to 11. Her outstanding performances earned her the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title in three of those finals.

Off the court, Sarah dedicates her time to coaching and inspiring the next generation of athletes. She has successfully coached junior basketball and softball teams, leveraging her extensive sports experience to enhance the skills and knowledge of young players. Sarah juggles her sporting commitments with a part-time role at Bunnings and a coaching position with Gecko Sports.
