We have recently sponsored Sherbrooke Suns basketball player, Sarah Weaver. AceComms director, Kevin Cuyler, stated, “It is important to give back to up-and-coming sports people.  Sports provides confidence, self-esteem, plus both physical and mental development.”  AceComms sponsorship compliments a bright future for the Suns player.

Growing Talent

Suns basketball player, Sarah Weaver, is 19 years old.  She has been playing basketball since she was 6 years old in local domestic competitions. Since 2014 she has been continuously playing representative basketball. Sarah stated “I am really grateful for the sponsorship I have with AceComms. Moving higher in the semi-professional basketball league means that there are player costs involved to be able to compete. While being a full-time student and a part time retail worker, AceComms has given me the opportunity to continue playing my favourite game whilst reducing the stress off of me financially.”

Both in 2020 and 2021, Sarah played in both the Suns under 21 team, and the Suns Big V Youth League Team. Sarah is presently playing in the Suns Big V Youth League and is taking the roll of Captain of the team. A bright future for the Suns player is ahead.

Sarah says “Basketball is one of the most important things to me. Whilst being able to continually develop skills for my game and push myself to become a better player, it has also allowed me to make some amazing friends. The community surrounding basketball is such an experience to be a part of. The connections between players of all ages, coaches, and opposition is so enjoyable.”

AceComms General Manager, Jason Jaski, stated “Brands are continually looking for smarter ways to increase exposure.  Being able to give back to the community makes both community and commercial sense. Previously sports sponsorship opportunities were largely offered to global players, however it also makes sense for smaller organisations to embrace community-based sponsorships. Recognising up and coming athletes is a great way to align a brand to a positive touch point.”
